Massive boulders were moved to make way for this mid-century inspired modern home. located in the foothills of Palm Springs. Clean horizontal lines dominate, with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, rift-oak flush cabinetry, and quartzite countertops.
24 foot wide sliding glass doors completely disappear within hidden wall pockets, opening the living area up to the outdoor patios. A generous covered porch overlooks the extra-long lap pool, with city views beyond. A roof-top sundeck affords even better views of both the city below, and the mountains above.
Xeroscaping was used in the yard areas, including many of the boulders that were un-earthed during construction. Large, Richard Neutra themed tiling was used on the floors and in the showers, and all window shades electronically roll up into recesses in the ceiling. A whole-house automation system controls everything with an ipad or iphone.
